Peter and the Beast

A couple of updates for you all you lovely people.
I think I finally have my cast in place for Beauty and the Beast and like I said I really do hate to  announce things online because then it doesn't work out and I feel like I've let you down.  However in this instance I think I've come up with a rather elegant solution to that problem.  Part of that solution is to let you in on my little secret.  The truth is, that for any "main" role in a shoot multiple offers go out for a part.  Then whoever answers first tends to be locked in, when or if an actor falls through then I have a back up.  And if the actor doesn't fall out I tend not to tell the other guys about each other.  It's all very shady, and I do feel bad about it on some level, but not bad enough to stop.  So here are the top three candidates.  And trust me I've lined up some sexy beasts.

First off we have Reconstructing Grimm favorite Nick Zajdel:

This is one of my all time favorite shots of Nick. I know that most of you don't know him out there, but this look is super against type for him.  Nick is sort of the human equivalent of the Forth of July.  He's all American, bright, lots of fun, and usually ends his conversations with you with some kind of sparkly finale.

Ladies I'd like to introduce you to John Glowacki.
John is a clever new talent at UWM currently.  I had the good fortune to work with him on one of his first projects when he started college and he blew me away.  I have since been wanting to use him in a shoot, but the tricky thing is he's super hard to pin down.  So I'm hoping that his schedule will clear up and I'll finally get to use him for Beauty and the Beast.

Here's where I'm going to be a little evil:
That's right it could be neither of the above mentioned choices, and  I have yet to send out a few more notices. So we'll see.

I can tell you that every other role in the shoot has been cast.  And I've heavily started work on one of the Belle dresses.  That's where we're at folks.  I'll keep you in the loop the best I can in the next few weeks and we'll get there together.

Also, Perry sent me three shots from Peter Pan that weren't included in the last blog post because I didn't think we had anymore.  So as to not deprive you of these pics I'm including them in this post.

Hook was fighting now without hope. That passionate breast no longer asked for life; but for one boon it craved: to see Peter show bad form before it was cold forever.

All children grow up, except for one... Peter Pan
"So, Pan," said Hook at last, "this is all your doing."
"Ay, James Hook," came the stern answer, "it is all my doing."
"Proud and insolent youth," said Hook, "prepare to meet thy doom."
"Dark and sinister man," Peter answered, "have at thee."
There you are.  I think this is the last of the Peter Pan pics, but who can really say  when we'll see the last of Peter Pan?  As I always promise, if I get pictures you'll get to see them.

Lastly, I would like to pose another question to you.  I can read where you're all from in the blogs stats section.  I am also thrilled to know that Reconstructing Grimm has been international for quite some time now.  What I'd like to know is, where specifically you're from.  For example, my second largest readership is in Australia, where specifically in Australia are you guys from?  Also let me know what brought you here the blog, you guys know so much about me I'd love to get to know some of you readers a little better.

That's all for now.  Goodnight Neverland.

  1. I'm a college student in Massachusetts right now but hopefully sometime in the future I will be reading your blog from somewhere in Europe or Asia.

I love your blog. You inspire me!

  2. I think I found your blog while searching out a fairy tale image to use as my PC's wallpaper (how boring is that?). I live in the Twin Cities of MN and am currently wishing for more sunshine and spring-like weather. :)

Can't wait to see the "Beauty & the Beast" pictures!

  3. Thanks so much both of you!

@MyrnaSeptember7: I hope you get to Europe or Asia as well.

@Melissa: I hope you get your sun shine.

Both of you thanks for your comments, super cool.
